In this tutorial you will be learning how to blend multiple color images.  We will also be keeping up on layers work. You will be using these three pictures of Hayden Panettiere picture-resources.php These images are from PsDelightful but I filled in the background for this tutorial.

Firstly open a new blank document and name it Hayden P blend. (width-375px, length-525px). Fill the background layer with this color #DC4151.

Now we need to start adding the images. The first one we shall be using is this one resources/panettiere8.jpg. Open this image in Photoshop. Go to Image > Image Size, and make sure you settings match these.

Then select the Rectangular Marquee Tool and draw a selection around the whole image.

Your image should have a dotted outline like this once you have drawn the selection

After selecting Image 1. Copy the image and paste onto your Hayden P blend document double click on layer 1 and name it Hayden 1. Set the layer to Lighten at 100% Opacity.

You should only be able to see her head, arms and torso , not her legs. Move your image into the same position as this.

Now its time to add the second image resources/panettiere9.jpg. Open this image in photoshop and resize goto

Image > Image Size and make sure you settings match these.

Now you must select the WHOLE newly resized image and paste it onto your Hayden P Blend exactly the same way you did with the first image, but this time you will have to remove the pink background.

To do this you must select the Magic wand tool and click on each part of the pink background seprately and click cut (ctrl.x) Once you have pasted it onto the document and removed the backround,  move it into the same position as this.

When your image looks like this or similar.  Change the layer to Lighten 100% Opacity. And double click the layer and rename it Hayden 2.

Once you have set the layer to lighten it should look like this.

By lightening you make the images blend nicely together and into the background.

Now the next bit it fairly tricky and needs to be done accurately.

We now need to erase the images over laps so select the Eraser tool and make sure your on you Hayden 2 layer. Go to the top and you can set you brushes around 20 pixels. You must to 0% hardness. Click on the blue arrow on this icon to change the settings.

Try and make you erasing as accurate as possible. The places you need to erase are over lapping the first image. don't erase ANY bits that aren't overlapping.

Now we need to add the last image. Do the same again open in photoshop. Goto Image > Image Size and make sure your setting are the same as these

Use the Rectangular Marquee tool to select and then paste the image onto your Hayden P blend document . For this image you will again have to remove the pink background. Once you have removed the background rename the layer Hayden 3 and set it to Lighten move it into the same position as this one.

Now you will have to erase the over lap. Select your erase tool. I set mine to hardness 0% and 20 pixels but you can change it to what you prefer. Before you erase make sure you are on the Hayden 3 layer. You will have to erase the arm that overlapping the 1st image and I would erase the hand to. Try and make it look this one.
